Nudi at 40 metres.

The frilly tuft at the rear is a branchial plume - a cluster of gills used to extract oxygen from the water.

Because nudibranchs lack shells, their gills are exposed on the outside, which makes them vulnerable - but their bright colors and toxins help deter predators.

I love the dance of the short-tailed stingray. It's like a sheet being shaken out before it gets folded. They have a venomous spine near the base of the tail, but they are not aggressive and usually only use it defensively.

Hanging out amongst the poles and 'old wives' fish at Rapid Bay.

Old wives (Enoplosus armatus) are striped, reef-dwelling fish, schooling around jetties, with venomous dorsal spines and a grinding “old wife” sound. Rapid Bay, South Australia.

At 30 metres that’s where you’ll find the sunfish, or Mola Mola to the locals. Mola Mola are the heaviest bony fish in the world and can grow up to 3 metres long, and 2 tonnes in weight. Nusa Penida, Indonesia.
